DIRECTOR

GIAN PAOLO MONTALI

An authoritative figure in international sport, he has coached at both club level and with the Italian Men’s National Volleyball Team, leading the latter to major international successes, including European and World Championship titles and the Silver Medal at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.

Across an exceptional coaching career, he has guided top European clubs such as Parma, Treviso, Olympiacos, and Rome, earning multiple national championships and European trophies, and becoming one of the youngest Italian coaches ever to win a national title.

Transitioning from coaching to sports management, he served as General Director and Board Member for leading football clubs, including Juventus F.C., AS Roma, and Leyton Orient.

He later played a pivotal role in international golf as General Director of the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome, where he was instrumental in bringing the event to Italy for the first time.

A respected academic contributor, he lectures in major universities and has taught subjects ranging from leadership and human‑resources coaching at SDA Bocconi to sport management at 24 Ore Business School and strategic marketing at the University of Parma.

In recognition of his accomplishments, he has been awarded the title of Cavaliere Ufficiale della Repubblica Italiana for sporting merit and holds an honorary degree in Sport Sciences.

A sought‑after consultant and keynote speaker for global corporations, he is the author of bestselling books that translate the values, ethics, and leadership principles of sport into effective organizational and business strategies.

SCIENTIFIC DIRECTOR

Silvano Zanuso

Dr. Silvano Zanuso is the Scientific Research & Communication Director at Technogym and an Adjunct Associate Professor at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Australia. His work sits at the intersection of exercise physiology, metabolic health, and scientific innovation, advancing Technogym’s evidence‑based approach to training and wellbeing.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Padua, a Master of Science from Manchester Metropolitan University, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Universidad Europea de Madrid, a multidisciplinary academic path that underpins his international research career.

Dr. Zanuso’s primary research focuses on the effects of physical activity and exercise on individuals with metabolic disorders, an area in which he has published extensively in leading scientific and clinical journals. His work includes influential studies on type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular risk factors, insulin sensitivity, and exercise modalities, with numerous high‑impact papers indexed through Google Scholar.

Throughout his career, he has acted as a health consultant for governments and public institutions, contributing to national and international health‑promotion strategies. He has delivered conferences and educational programs in more than twenty countries, reinforcing his role as a global voice in exercise medicine and preventive health.

Dr. Zanuso has also served as Visiting Professor at several universities, including:

MATTHEW KAMPERT

SPORTS MEDICINE PHYSICIAN

Dr. Matthew Kampert is a Cleveland Clinic staff physician specializing in sports medicine, endocrinology‑related metabolic health, and exercise physiology. His clinical work integrates advanced exercise science into medical care, focusing on how targeted movement, strength training, and metabolic optimization can improve patient outcomes.

He completed both his Family Medicine Residency and his Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, building a strong foundation in exercise‑based intervention, chronic disease management, and musculoskeletal health. He is currently completing a PhD in Exercise Physiology, further deepening his research expertise in bioenergetics, exercise testing, and precision‑training methodologies.

Dr. Kampert leads primary sports medicine research within the Cleveland Clinic system and directs musculoskeletal education, shaping best practices for physicians and health professionals. He is known for advancing exercise‑based interventions for chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes, obesity, metabolic dysfunction, and mobility‑related disorders.

His work extends into community health, where he contributes to innovative programs integrating exercise prescription into underserved populations. These include clinical initiatives delivered through Technogym‑equipped community centers, where he applies personalized training models, metabolic screening, and functional assessment to support long‑term health improvement.

A sought‑after speaker, he presents internationally on topics such as precision exercise, GLP‑1–related muscle preservation, metabolic fitness, and the clinical application of connected training technologies. Across his work, he champions the role of evidence‑based movement as a cornerstone of preventive medicine, functional longevity, and complete patient care.

Attilio Carraro

Prof. Attilio Carraro is a Full Professor of Sport and Exercise Sciences at the Free University of Bozen‑Bolzano, where he serves as Deputy Dean for Research and Head of the MoveMore Lab, a multidisciplinary research hub dedicated to studying physical activity, wellbeing, and sustainable health behaviors.

His academic work focuses on promoting physical activity across the lifespan, with particular attention to adolescents, children, and vulnerable populations. He explores how movement influences not only physical health and fitness but also mental wellbeing, stress management, and overall quality of life, contributing to a deeper understanding of physical literacy and the psychosocial dimensions of active living.

Prof. Carraro is an internationally recognized scholar with an extensive publication record, authoring more than 270 works in seven languages, reflecting his broad engagement in global research communities. He plays an active leadership role in the field as Secretary General of the Italian Society for Exercise and Sport Sciences (SISMeS) and as a Board Member of AIESEP, where he oversees research and innovation initiatives.

His recent projects include large‑scale studies on the health and wellbeing of university populations, the development of sustainable strategies to combat sedentarism, and new approaches to fostering exercise adoption through educational, environmental, and community‑based interventions.

Across his academic, scientific, and institutional responsibilities, he consistently works to advance a culture of movement, supporting the integration of physical activity into everyday life and promoting healthier, more active communities.

Jeremy McCarthy

Jeremy McCarthy is an internationally respected leader in the hospitality, spa, and wellness industry, with more than twenty‑five years of experience shaping guest wellbeing across some of the world’s most prestigious hotel groups. His career spans senior roles at Four Seasons, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, where he spent over a decade directing global spa, leisure, and wellness strategy.

At Mandarin Oriental, he oversaw spa and wellness operations across dozens of luxury hotels worldwide, guiding the brand’s evolution from traditional spa services to fully integrated leisure and wellbeing experiences. Under his leadership, the group earned repeated global recognition as one of the world’s leading luxury spa brands. His work included developing innovative wellness programs, pioneering digital‑wellbeing concepts, launching movement‑centric initiatives, expanding visiting‑practitioner programs, and shaping industry‑leading colleague‑wellness culture.

Jeremy’s expertise bridges luxury customer experience, operational management with financial oversight, brand development, and holistic wellness strategy. He has played a key role in resort development, family and leisure programming, and the creation of guest and colleague wellness resources adopted across multiple continents.

A thought leader in the field, he is the author of The Psychology of Spas & Wellbeing and holds a Master of Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. He frequently writes and speaks on wellness innovation, human behaviour, and the evolving needs of modern travelers, contributing to global wellness forums, hospitality publications, and industry panels.

Across his career, he has championed a vision of hospitality that blends luxury, wellbeing, and meaningful human connection — shaping guest experiences that elevate both personal health and emotional fulfilment.

Claudia Venturini

NUTRITION PHYSICIAN - MD, PhD

Dr. Claudia Venturini is a Medical Doctor and specialist in Food Science, Clinical Nutrition, and Dietetics, with a PhD in Obesity and Related Diseases. Her scientific background combines rigorous clinical training with advanced research in metabolic health, nutrition‑related pathologies, and preventive medicine.

For more than twenty years, she has served as Medical Director at the National Institute of Research and Care on Aging (IRCCS INRCA) in Ancona, a leading national research center dedicated to longevity, healthy aging, and the complex nutritional needs of older adults. In this role, she has contributed to clinical programs and research initiatives focused on chronic disease prevention, nutritional intervention, and the relationship between diet, functionality, and long‑term wellbeing.

Her work places strong emphasis on translating scientific evidence into practical strategies, guiding individuals and healthcare teams toward more effective nutritional approaches to support metabolic health, promote healthy aging, and improve quality of life.

Cristian Brugnoli

ARCHITECTURE & INTERIOR DESIGN DIRECTOR

Cristian Brugnoli was born into a family deeply rooted in the world of luxury furniture, where he was exposed from an early age to craftsmanship, design culture, and collaborations with leading international architects. He went on to graduate in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano, one of Europe’s most renowned design and engineering institutions.

Over the course of his career, he has worked with some of the most prestigious Italian design and furniture brands, holding various roles across sales, marketing, and project development. His work has brought him into close collaboration with internationally acclaimed “archistars” such as Patricia Urquiola, Ron Arad, Norman Foster, Cesar Giraldo, Kristina Zanic, Marco Piva, and A++, contributing to high‑profile projects that bridge architecture, interior design, and luxury lifestyle environments.

Since June 2018, Cristian has served as Architecture & Interior Design Director at Technogym, where he leads the creative vision for spatial design across global projects. His role integrates architectural coherence, brand expression, and user‑centric design to shape Technogym‑branded spaces that embody elegance, innovation, and the company’s unique wellness philosophy.

Olivera Zajelac, with over 20 years of expertise in nutrition, wellness and performance, bringing experience from AC Milan and as a European consultant for Amway, turns science into high-impact strategies that enhance health and performance helping individuals reach their full potential every day.

Andrea Galvani

MD, PhD, MBA

Dr. Andrea Galvani is a medical doctor and Medical Advisor for the Medical & Scientific Department at Technogym. He is also Adjunct Professor at the University of Bologna, where he teaches Principles of Clinical Care and Human Anatomy at the Rimini Campus.He received his Medical Degree from the University of Bologna and his PhD in Biomolecular and Health Sciences from the University of Urbino Carlo Bo. His principal clinical activity spans more than ten years in emergency medicine and sports medicine.Dr. Galvani also holds a Master in Underwater and Hyperbaric Medicine from the University of Barcelona and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from H-FARM (Venice).His professional interests focus on the translational role of exercise in disease prevention.
